The workplace isnt dead, well not fully anyway! Most employees want to spend, at least some of their week, in the same place as their colleagues. Employers also understand that collaboration and team bonding is most effective when it happens face to face.  We also need to enable virtual collaboration by indicating our availability to support our colleagues and also when we are free to chat over a virtual coffee.  
In this session you will learn how it is possible to bring workers back to the workplace safely. We will show the key elements of safe return related to items such as communication, keeping safe distances, data for cleaning and understanding air quality.
We will also explore the factors that will motivate employees to leave their homes and how workplaces need to be redesigned to support these new requirements. The software and hardware technology that enables safe return and meets the new employee requirements also provides the data to understand how much spaces and what kind of spaces are needed.  
 
Dr. Ken Dooley is the Chief Strategy Officer for Empathic Building at Haltian and he is also a Postdoctoral Researcher in Smart Buildings at Aalto University. He has almost 20 years of experience in the built environment and has worked in London, Sydney, Dublin and Helsinki.
