Expatriation: now and in future.

Tilaisuus on webinaari ja se toteutetaan kaksikielisesti, osin suomeksi ja osin englanniksi.

In this HENRY-session, the focus on global mobility of highly-skilled professionals.
The session is targeted to HRM-people interested in expatriate management issues. Expatriation is a challenging process for both individuals and organizations. Thus, if the process is not managed well, it often leads to dissatisfaction, wellbeing challenges and retention problems during the assignment or after it.

We will start from the angle of expatriates themselves by presenting new findings on how expatriates develop their career capital abroad and how the expatriation impacts their careers after the expatriation.

Second, we focus on expatriates’ well-being and issues related on their work and personal life interface. Finally, we will discuss findings from interviews of global mobility managers in European MNCs. The focus is on how to develop more innovative and flexiple forms of global mobility to adapt to the volatility, complexity, and uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation. The findings are emerging from the GLOMO-project (www.GLOMO.eu) that is implemented by the consortium of five European universities and other organizations focusing on global mobility in Europe.
