Diversity and inclusion initiatives in businesses are organizational efforts aimed at creating workplaces that value and respect the differences among employees. The goal is not only to increase the representation of underrepresented groups but also to foster an inclusive culture where every individual feels valued, heard, and included.

However, commonly used phrases such as “culture fit” and “company values” can promote homogeneity and act against the D&I initiatives. In this webinar, common HR and leadership practices and pitfalls during the hiring and team-building processes as well as practical solutions will be discussed. We will also discuss the importance of leadership buy-in and accountability in driving diversity and inclusion.

My personal driver from early on has been to support the creation of a sustainable workplace environment where the leaders and employees can feel trusted and valued. The focus on employee experience has a positive knock-on effect on the customer experience, too, and hence contributes to overall business success.
 
To do this, active listening and building a trustful collaboration is key.
 
Before becoming a Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Professional, I explored the areas of leadership development and culture transformation and worked for many years as Employee and Change Communications Professional at Nokia..
 
Seeing diversified teams come together to ideate, cocreate and progress is my aim. I believe that bringing diverse people together with different characteristics and backgrounds, but also identities, experience, expertise and cognitively diverse capabilities will make the world and any company a stronger one.

I work with senior and top leaders to create more consciously inclusive environments, challenging them to pursue the benefits, set targets and goals and ensuring an increase in the inclusion experience of employees, customers, investors, and shareholders.
