Knowledge Transfer 55+
Duration
9/2025–8/2026
The project is based on a current challenge in working life. As employees retire, a significant amount of knowledge, skills, and experience will leave companies and other organisations in the coming years. Knowledge transfer may rely solely on a single exit interview, and the information gathered in such interviews often goes unused. In some cases, exit discussions may not take place at all.
The aim of the project is to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be utilised to capture the knowledge, skills, and experience that would otherwise be lost due to retirement.
The project will develop a concept for an AI-assisted knowledge transfer process which will streamline employee exit processes, accelerate recruitment, and ensure the transfer of critical knowledge to new employees.
The project will also increase understanding of how AI can support the smooth transfer of information related to retiring employees’ clients, projects, and associated knowledge to new staff members.
This is a preliminary study project, and it consists of four work packages:
- Mapping the current state
- Identifying critical knowledge and models for knowledge transfer
- Surveying and evaluating technological solutions
- Developing an AI-assisted offboarding process/concept
